Noise Barrier Wall - STC 32
National Vinyl manufactures a tongue and groove, noise barrier wall system (the Heavy Wall Tuf-Barrier™), specifically for commercial applications. With an overall density of more than 4 pounds per square foot, and able to withstand a considerable "wind live load" of 45 pounds per square foot, this sound barrier wall delivers strength and noise reduction performance that make it ideal for multiple industrial and commercial uses.
With an STC-32, when filled with custom fitting, polystyrene foam inserts, the Heavy Wall Tuf-Barrier™noise barrier decibel reduction rating is bettered only by concrete sound barrier wall systems - which are typically much more costly and come with numerous installation challenges - virtually non-existent with the Heavy Wall Tuf-Barrier™ rail system, as it is very easily transported and installed. No heavy lifting equipment is required.
The Heavy Wall Tuf-Barrier™noise barrier panel is comprised of the industries thickest and heaviest tongue and groove PVC rail. With rail dimensions of 2.75" x 6" (face height), rails are stacked one upon the other, snuggly within National Vinyl H-Posts, to the desired height and capped with a "flat top" finishing rail.
System height determines post type to be used. In applications to 6' heights; galvalume steel post core stiffeners are required. To 8' heights; structural (.125" wall) steel is mandated. Both of these reinforcements are covered with a PVC H-Post, for a clean, uniform finish. For greater heights, the use of powder coated steel I-Beams (uncovered) is required.
Color can be uniform throughout, or different rail colors can be used for a contrasting appearance. Alternatively, posts, bottom and top rails can be of one color and "frame" the panel which itself can be of another color offering.
The Heavy Wall Tuf-Barrier™ noise barrier fencing system is not only designed for highway or key secondary road applications. It is also an excellent choice for subdivision perimeter fencing; with no costly upkeep for cities, property developers or individual homeowners, commonly incurred when wood perimeter fencing is used. The Heavy Wall Tuf-Barrier™ noise barrier will remain aesthetically pleasing to homeowners and can be used in conjuction with Tuf-Fence® styles - running as fingers from the perimeter sight barrier to (the) individual homes. The Heavy Wall Tuf-Barrier™ is currently offered in 5 colors - but other colors can be made available for larger scale projects.
